Rain.Fall.Renewal

Monday, October 29th, 2007

San Diego got a little bit of rain this weekend and it was so refreshing to feel a sense of renewal in the air! Daniel and I were thinking - if only the rain came last week, then the fire wouldn’t have happened (or wouldn’t be this bad). But if the rain did come, we wouldn’t have known how bad things would have been. We would have never know the potential for such calamity. Everyday we are living under God’s grace without knowing it!

It’s extremely rare to see any signs of change of season here in San Diego. But God gave me a special gift this weekend - the leaves on the two trees in our ‘backyard’ (the community park next to our condo complex) turned yellow and covered the ground with beautiful fall colors. With still a tiny bit of mist in the air, we went outside to play with June!

flying bunny! whee!!!

I love June because she’s so easy to handle and she let us take her to places!!! I really wish I could take Buns and Hops out for a photoshoot without stressing them out!! Well, maybe next weekend. We’ll see.

San Diego Fires

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

Cindy and I just got back to our place last night. We live in Carmel Valley and while I think the fire was still a ways off, we were in the mandatory evacuation area since our home is north of the 56. San Diego is a crazy place! Two huge fires in 4 years. I’ve lived in San Diego all my life and never have we had fires like this.

These fires have really disrupted life! Everyone who is still displaced from their home or has lost their home is in my prayers. I was supposed to be the groomsman for one of my friend’s wedding this weekend, but he decided to postpone the wedding due to the fires.

San Diego is beautiful for photographs and that’s one of the reasons we love the place, but it can be scary at times!

Congrats to my friends Alex and Jojo!

anyways, last night after class I had some free time to spare, so I decided to go through the pictures that I took at Alex and Jo’s wedding from a few weeks ago. Daniel and I were only guests and I told myself that I was going to just sit back and relax and not go picture crazy. Well, turned out that Daniel and I ended up sitting all the way in the back of the sanctuary because we got there 15 minutes late! But thanks to Chinese time the ceremony hasn’t even started yet when we arrived! haha. I tried very hard to just enjoy the moment, but I couldn’t help it…I found myself shooting away still(from my own seat of course) haha.

the ring bearer freaked out as he was walking down the aisle!

Alex was serenading Jojo as she was walking down the aisle. It’s pretty romantic and brave of Alex!

my awesome weekend - Ben & Marina’s Engagement

Wednesday, October 10th, 2007

Daniel and I had an awesome time last weekend! We went to San Jose and spent the whole weekend with Ben and Marina, who will be getting married next month!!  Ben is one of my college buddies so I’m so excited that he’s getting married - to our one and only Marina Chen!  They are so fun to be with, and I just love their bluntness and honesty. To top it off -they are both PKs!  hahaha…I’m not at all surprised that another pair of PK got together because of their similar level of differentiations. So according to Bowenian therapy, this makes perfect sense.

Other highlights of the trip are: attending our friend Alex Chow’s wedding where we saw a lot of CEF people there, hanging out with Alice and Damen and and visiting LSCC (Josh Chien’s church) on Sunday where I saw Will, Ming-Gih, Nate & Christina and their 1 month old son.  The baby looks so much like Nate!

While we were up there, we also took some engagement pictures for Ben and Marina.  Here’s a few of my favs.

I know, feet shots again.  But cute shoes always deserve some attention.  This photo is actually quite a big deal because Ben only wears flip flops, but he willingly put on a pair of nice shoes for Marina for this occasion.
