Easter treasure hunt shoot with PJ & June!!

It’s been a tradition that every Easter, Julie from Lot116 Photography and I would collaborate on a Easter shoot with her daughter PJ and my bunny June. This year is no exception! We came up with a treasure hunting adventure themed shoot for them – which I think it’s perfect for the spunky, curious personalities that both PJ and June have! Julie has also posted pictures on her blog so don’t forget to head over there and check out her gorgeous pictures of PJ and June!!

p.s. Bunnies are such amazing (and amazingly adorable) creatures! June was adopted from House Rabbit Society (HRS) and she’s one incredible bunny. She is litter trained, respond to her name, has free roam around the house and loves to snuggle with me. Bunnies are high maintenance pets that require lots of care and love, and not to mention $$ for all the vet visits (I can’t tell you how much money I’ve spent over the lifetime of my beloved Bun Buns)! They can live up to 12-13 years so it’s a decade long commitment. If you’re thinking about getting a bunny for yourself or for your kids, please please please consider adopting one from House Rabbit Society or from the shelter. So many people give up their rabbits to the shelter and so many wonderful bunnies are waiting for their forever home there. I love my June and I can’t imagine life without her!

First of all, I have to warn you ahead of time that you might experience cuteness overload by reading this post!

Some of you might remember that last year I collaborated a shoot with Julie Cruz of Lot116 photography – a shoot of my bunny June and her daughter PJ in a field. It was all sorts of childhood dreaminess and it was still one of my favorite personal shoots of all times!! I love all things cute, childlike, dreamy & magical so of course this year we had to do it again. :) And what is more cute, childlike and dreamy than having a tea party with a bunny?

Julie has already posted pictures on her blog too - Check them out here!! She got a lot of amazing shots!

So here I present you the story of ’The Tea Party in the Land of Sunshine’ – starring with our very own June & PJ.

And when they were done eating, they laid down to rest for a little bit.

Thank you again for being such a big fan of June and of Orange Turtle Photography. And THANK YOU Julie for bringing all the cute props for this tea party! PJ also did great with June. She was so gentle and loving toward June! :) PJ said to Julie (on the way to the shoot) that her dream is finally coming true – that she can finally have a tea party with a real animal! Isn’t she cute?!

p.s. I adopted June from House Rabbit Society (HRS) 4 years ago. I love her to pieces. Rabbits are high maintenance small animals/pets and they require a lot of love and attention. If you are thinking about getting a rabbit for your kids, please think twice before you do that. And please consider adopting/saving an adult rabbit from the shelter. :) There are so many reasons why adopting an adult rabbit is so much better than buying a new baby one. Here are some of them:

1. Most of the rabbits from the shelter or HRS have already been litter trained. Yes my rabbits are litter trained!

2. The shelter/HRS will spay or neuter the rabbit before you take it home, saving you hundreds of dollars.

3. Older rabbits are better companions for children.

4. You are getting exactly what you see. With baby rabbits, the cute baby phase is so short (about a month)!! But when you’re getting a full grown rabbit, you know that this rabbit will stay exactly like that.

5. The shelter or HRS can inform you of the rabbit’s personality, allowing you to make an informed decision about which rabbit to adopt that would be best for your family.

an adorable valentine’s shoot.

Orlie is my sweet little niece! The last time I blogged about her was about half a year ago! She has grown so much since then!! :) For Valentine’s day, her awesome daddy (my brother-in-law) scheduled a session for his family. Orlie is a curious little girl and loves exploring, looking around, pointing at things and talking to us.

SO. FREAKIN. ADORABLE.

She loves this book so much that she wouldn’t put it down!

Look at this beautiful family. My sis-in-law is so gorgeous!! :)

We had a little reading time with Orlie.

I have a feeling that Orlie knows she is cute!

The Gardner Family * San Diego Family Portraits

As 2010 coming to an end, we are happy to say that we finished shooting all of our weddings and family portraits of the year!! Whew!

So today I’m sharing with you guys a beautiful family portrait session that I shot for the Gardner Family! Dustin is currently in the military and he has been deployed for 6 months before returning home this Thanksgiving. When he left, his little girl was only 3 months old (she is now 9 months old). I can’t imagine how hard it is to be away from your loved ones for 6 months!! Going into this session, I knew that this would be something very special for them. I’m so glad that the weather cooperated and blessed us with some glorious sunlight.

Toward the end of the family session, I took some pictures of Dustin and Melissa alone. I always make a point to to this so that couple can have a few pictures of just themselves.

Aren’t they an adorable couple!

It’s Summer time!

Summer seriously just got started here in San Diego! Two days ago I went to the beach with my lovely sister-in-law Victoria, her husband Rob and their beautiful girl Orlie! Orlie is almost 7 months old now and she is such a cutie!! How can I not capture some sweet moment of Orlie’s first time at the beach?

I love her rainbow swimsuit! :)

With the wedding season in full swing, we have been shooting weddings after weddings. While I love doing that, I also love shooting something different once in awhile. On Monday, my friend Julie from Lot 116 photography invited me to come along and shoot with her just for fun. And her client this time is the adorable Izzy!! Izzy just signed with a model agency so he needs some head shots right away. How can I refuse such a fun invitation?

And since Izzy and PJ are friends from pre-school, PJ came along with the shoot also! Since PJ have been modeling for awhile, she was teaching Izzy how to pose and how to smile (or not smile). It was hilarious! Here’s PJ working her model look…showing Izzy how it’s done.

Bay Area Family Session * The Snyder family

Alice Snyder. I have known her for over 10 years now. We met in college and she’s been a blessing to my life! We were housemates for a few years and have so much memories together! After we graduated from college, even though I moved to San Diego and she stayed in the bay area, we’ve kept close in touch with each other. I’m so thankful that our friendship didn’t drift apart but grew closer as we walked through different stages of life. Speaking of stages of life, Alice is definitely one (or two) stages ahead of me! She has two cute kids that are just so adorable.

A few days before Mother’s day, The Snyders flew me up to the bay area to have their photos taken. It was a perfect pre-mother’s day celebration. And of course, it was great for me too because I get to see my own mom as well! I took a few pictures with only Alice and her husband Damon first (which I think it’s so important for couples to do!!). And then the kids joined in later. :)

Here are some of the adorable moments from their session!

Here’s a couple of shot that I took of little Alexis at their house while they were getting her ready!! She is such a fun little girl! She was handing me a sock. Hilarious.

Awhile ago I posted some teaser pictures of June and PJ for their Easter shoot. :) Well, here are the rest of the photos! But before that, I want to say once again that Julie Cruz from Lot116 photography is the visionary behind this amazing shoot. A lot of you have asked previously if we really lugged the chair out to the middle of nowhere – well, yes and no. Yes we did (Julie) lugged the chair out, but the location wasn’t in the middle of nowhere! Haha it’s just an empty field next to a business park area, which is next to a pretty busy road. We are just THAT good in working our camera magic. This is why, you should hire Julie or me for your family photos! :)

I’m excited every time I get to work with Julie and PJ. I LOVE KIDS! And PJ is just so adorable and fun to work with. This shoot is even more awesome because our very own little miss June added extra cuteness to the whole shoot! Julie got an awesome shot of June and of course lots of cute shots of PJ on her blog here – be sure to check them out!! :)
